    Jake stepped in and closed the door. Lily raised an eyebrow when he turned the deadbolt.
    With a small smile, she asked, “Whatcha doin’?”
    “What time are Tom and Derek supposed to get here?” he asked with a wicked, naughty gleam in his eye.
    “Not for twenty minutes. What do you have in mind?”
    Instead of answering, he scooped her up and headed for the laundry room off the kitchen. He set her down on her feet and unzipped and dropped her shorts to the floor. He picked her up and put her on the washing machine.

    “What are you doing?” she gasped out. “There’s nothing in there.”
    Jake raised an eyebrow. “I know.”
